• April fools! Only not really, especially for Michael and Maria Kress. After months of thinking they were having a baby boy, 17 hours in labor later, Lidia Maria Kress was brought into this world a bloody and screaming mess. This was the first and only child for the two.
• As a child, Lidia was that sort of child that could convince anyone to do anything. She could probably convince her mom to make pancakes every night for dinner if she really wanted to. Of course she's tried it, what child doesn't want breakfast for dinner? All that syrup? Keeps you up for hours. Although she never needed the sugar anyways, she was a hyper little child. Always running around, jumping in mud puddles -- or making her own.
• School was always a problem for Lidia as well. That was until one parent-teacher conference in fourth grade when the teacher suggested that Lidia get tested for ADHD. Her parents were definitely open to that as they could never seem to keep the girl still for more than a few seconds. Come to find out, she did have it. She was also dyslexic. Lidia was soon put into special classes for her dyslexia and on medication for her ADHD. She hated it.
• After that, school wasn't a problem for Lidia. She was constantly bringing home excellent progress reports and papers/tests. Her parents were so proud of their little crazy ball of sunshine that they'd spoil her constantly. As if she wasn't already spoiled beforehand, it just got worse. Her home life was pretty ideal but that only lasted a few years, until she was in junior high. Seventh grade, to be exact.
• Lidia had gone to school and come home like any other day. Her father was home to greet her, but a smile on his face, there was not. Her mother had been sick for a few days and that morning, after a few hours of vomiting and fainting, Michael took Maria to the hospital. Michael took Lidia to the hospital immediately after school, they spent the day and night there. Huddled up on a cot in the corner of the room while her mother remained lifeless, sort of. After that night, the doctor's allowed Maria to go home. They believed she only had a stomach virus. They were probably right, but there must've been something else going on.
• That night, around 2am Maria had started vomiting again, this time in her sleep. She didn't wake up, she died from choking on her own vomit while in her sleep. That was the first time Lidia had ever seen a dead person. And strangely enough, she wasn't in tears. She wasn't shocked. She took it rather well, surprisingly. Her father found that to be a shocker. But he took it pretty okay himself. Most of their family were concerned, especially for Michael. As they sort of figured he'd become a big drinker, but nope. Didn't happen. He had to stay strong, if not for himself, but for Lidia.
• The days went by, slowly, but surely. Now it was time for high school. That was the year that Michael reunited with an old friend, Katherine -- who just so happened to have a daugther the same age as Lidia. Lidia and
novalee at first, didn't get along much. Lidia was outgoing, a sparkplug of sorts whereas Novalee, not so much. The two were opposites.
• Now in her senior year at
tegesta, Lidia really has no clue whatsoever as to what she wants to do. She plans on going to Africa to help out in orphanages for a little while then backpack through Europe. Her father is willing to help her out with that, as the girl really needs to break free from her surroundings and he's considering it to be her graduation present of sorts.
• Is looking forward to her 18th birthday like no other. Well, other than her 21st, but what teenager isn't looking forward to
that one?
• Despite being on medication, she's still really loud and outgoing. Totally can be obnoxious at times and her sick sense of humor is often taken as her being a sarcastic bitch. Which she can be, when provoked.
• Generally takes everything with a grain of salt.
• Never has gone to the gym a day in her life. It helps a lot that she's still a bit overly active and is always running around. She likes it better that way, she doesn't wanna be stuck in a gym every day.
• Don't expect her to cook for you, because the most she can do is pop a hot pocket in the microwave and call it a day. And even then, after following the directions step by step, she still might burn it.
• Goes on food binges. She'll eat one particular food for like a month straight then drop it and move onto the next. She hasn't done that in awhile but she sometimes does eat the same things for awhile.
• Tends to laugh at the most inappropriate times (i.e. funerals). She doesn't mean to, just that when she's nervous, she laughs. She also likes to shock people. She'll do anything really that you ask of her, short of jumping off a bridge without a bungee cord.
• Likes; history, cartoons, sick humor, people who have the same sense of humor as her, sports (any kind -- except football), sno-cones, junk food, talking about bowel movements to anyone who will listen, watching porn just because it's funny sometimes, the weekends, mountain dew, chamomile tea, yoga, all genres of music, dancing around her room to madonna, weed, speedos (or the idea of them, most guys who wear them are gross), snakes, iphones, macs, computer games, star wars, star trek, the sci-fi channel, history channel, discovery channel & travel channel, reading, vitamin water, etc
• Dislikes; drama seekers, elephants, dora the explorer, any nick jr show because they all suck (except the oldschool ones), dying off in conversations, guns, horribly romantic movies, school work, or just school in general, quiet people, there will be more once i can think of them...
